Rigid Box: Telescope Box
This is the standard shape for rigid boxes.
It is separated into the box
and lid, with the lid covering over the bottom box.
The product fits deeply inside the box, with the addition of the lid
covering it, to give it solid protection.
The box is made from a core of cardboard, laminated with printed paper, specialty paper, textile, or synthetic leather. It can be laminated with
a diverse range of materials.
Since it has a simple shape, you can either reduce costs or add value
in its design or performance by what material or decorations you choose.
Rigid Box: Inro Box
This box is characterized by having an “inro” (inner frame) on the inner side of the box, so that the box and lid form a flat surface when joined together.
It is named after the traditional Japanese “inro” case, and has excellent airtightness. It will draw attention if paper that serves as an accent is used to decorate the “inro” inner frame, with the box designed to keep the “inro” part visible when the lid closes over the box.
Rigid Box: Book Box
This is a type of box surrounded by cardboard to make it look like a book.
When the box is opened, the backside of the lid will be visible alongside
the product placed within it, so that this surface can be used to inscribe
a message or attach a pocket or mirror.
It can also be made foldable, which will save transport expenses as well as storage space.
Rigid Box: Flat Lid Box
This is a box topped with a flat-shaped lid.
A fitting can be attached to a part of it so that the lid fits over the box seamlessly.
An attachment part can be placed on the underside of the lid,
or sleeves, magnets, and stickers can be used, to ensure that the lid will not
come off easily.
Rigid Box: Round Box
This is a round-shaped box. Round boxes can have a horizontal or
vertical opening on the side, or can be formed as a rounded version of the telescope box or inro box.
The bottom edge can be either curled or flat. The type with the curled edge provides increased strength.
Folder Box
This is a box that is shaped by folding.
It has lower strength compared to the rigid box, but offers high cost performance.
It is available in a variety of shapes, including one-piece folder, one-touch folder, bag-type, and pillow-type, in addition to shapes that are the same as rigid boxes such as telescope, inro, and book.
V-Cut Box
The cardboard edges and hinges of these boxes are processed into
V-shaped grooves.
These boxes are characterized by displaying the edges of the paper material as it is.
It creates an overall shape that features clean-cut edges, which gives it
a sharp impression.
Case
This is a rigid box made from plastic molding or MDF (molded board made from wood fiber), and laminated with textiles, leather, synthetic leather, leather paper, etc. It is sturdy and highly protective, and can withstand usage for a long period of time.
Some have lids that are attached at the back with hinges or joints, and there are also inro-type boxes. For the frontside, many have enhanced decorative elements such as fastenings or tassels.
Wooden Box
Rigid boxes can be created from natural wood such as paulownia and cedar, and can also be made by laminating them with wood-patterned paper.
You can also create your own original box printed with the color or wood pattern of your choice.
